Orchard SEN Curriculum
At St Teresa’s we aim to provide an inclusive education with our Catholic ethos at its centre.
To meet specific children’s needs we run Orchard Class which supports a small group of sensory learners in the mornings. They are joined by another small group of children who spend their mornings supported in their regular classes by a team of dedicated and experienced LSAs.
Our SEN curriculum provides no limits or barriers to achievement. It provides an opportunity for learners with Sensory and other Additional Needs to flourish in a small, teacher led setting following an individually tailored curriculum in a calm, well ordered setting.
Our Orchard SEN Curriculum is based on the following areas.
- Communication and Language
- Personal, Social and Emotional
- Physical
- Literacy
- Maths
- Expressive Arts and Design
- Topic based Learning.
Learners move through 3 levels before joining the Reception and Year 1 Curriculum intentions.
All Orchard learners have a current EHCP with an Annual Review and termly IPPs.
