Eco Warriors

The Eco Warriors are responsible for helping with environmental things, like recycling paper, and turning off lights or interactive boards. There are two in each year group, At the start of term, children who want to take part put their names down and then the class vote on who they want to represent them. The team meet once every half term to plan their activities.

This year Eco Warriors in KS2 have taken part in reading books for the The Royal Society Young People's Book Prize.

The Young People's Book Prize aims to promote literacy in young people and inspire them to read about science. It also supports the writing of excellent, accessible STEM books for under-14s. Each year, the winner is selected by judging panels made up of thousands of young people at schools across the UK from a shortlist selected by an adult panel.

Last year our Eco Warriors took part in the Big Battery Hunt, a nationwide recycling challenge, inspiring pupils to power change across their schools and wider communities. In it the Eco Warriors promoted the event within their class and the whole school.
